Ashlee Mack Pianist

Ashlee has been performing and teaching for over 20 years. She has given recitals in Germany, Italy, Czechia, and across the United States. As a specialist in contemporary music, she has commissioned many new works and given numerous world-premiere performances. Listen to her albums.

James Romig’s Still, recognized as a finalist for the 2019 Pulitzer Prize in Music, was recorded by Ashlee and recognized in The New Yorker, The Wire, and San Francisco Chronicle. She has presented Still more than 30 times, including performances at the Clyfford Still Museum, Frank Lloyd Wright’s historic Cedar Rock Estate, and The Stone in New York City. Along with Katherine Palumbo, Ashlee is cofounder of the Khasma Piano Duo, an ensemble dedicated to performing and recording music by living composers. In celebration of their 10th anniversary, the duo is touring with 7 newly commissioned works and visual art by Chris Craychee. Learn more about the Trekking project.

An avid hiker and nature lover, Ashlee has been artist-in-residence at Everglades, Grand Canyon, and Petrified Forest National Parks, Wupatki National Monument, and Centrum in Fort Worden State Park.

For the last 17 years, Ashlee has been the Director of Piano Studies at Knox College in Galesburg, IL. At Knox, she maintains a private piano studio, teaches a piano skills workshop, directs the Piano Chamber Ensemble, and oversees all things piano-related.
